Pune: Special Honor Awards Announced for Ex-Servicemen, Their Spouses, and Children; Applications Open Till September 15

Pune, 22nd July 2025: In recognition of exceptional achievements in various fields, the District Sainik Welfare Office, Pune has announced a one-time “Special Honor Award” for ex-servicemen, their spouses, and their children. The initiative aims to acknowledge outstanding contributions and excellence across disciplines, including academics, arts, entrepreneurship, and social service.

The announcement was made by Lt. Col. (Retd.) Hange S. D., District Sainik Welfare Officer, Pune.

Fields of Eligibility for the Award
Individuals eligible for the award include ex-servicemen or their family members who have shown remarkable performance in:

Sports, literature, music, singing, instrumental performance, and dance

Relief work during natural disasters

Academic achievements, such as:

Scoring over 90% in Class 10 board exams or over 85% in Class 12 during the academic year 2024–25

Securing first rank at university level in graduation or post-graduation

Gaining admission to premier institutions like IITs, IIMs, or AIIMS

Successful entrepreneurship

Recipients of social or environmental awards

How to Apply-
Application forms are available at the District Sainik Welfare Office, Pune. Interested ex-servicemen or their widows are required to submit their application in the prescribed format along with all relevant documents by 10:00 AM on September 15, 2025.

The welfare office has urged all eligible individuals to seize this opportunity to have their or their family’s accomplishments formally recognized by the state.
