Pune: Special Voter Registration Drive In Cantonment Assembly Constituency On July 22 And 23
Pune 19th July 2023: A special voter registration drive has been organised in the Cantonment Assembly constituency on July 22 and 23 by the election committee.
The Election Commission of India has declared January 1, 2024, as the eligibility date for voter registration under the special voter registration program for eligible voters. During this period, direct door-to-door verification will be carried out by the authorized officials at the polling center level, from 21st July to 21st August. Those whose names are not included in the voter list will have to fill in the Form 6 for inclusion, Form 7 for deletion of names from the voter list due to change of residence or death, and Form 8 for rectification of errors in the voter list or voter ID card.
For removing the name from the voter list, Form 7 requires a death certificate in the case of a deceased voter, a marriage certificate in the case of a married woman whose name has changed, and a proof of permanent residence in the case of other migrated voters.
For rectification of errors in the voter list, Form 8 requires Aadhaar card, driving license, Indian passport, photocopy of the first page of a nationalized bank passbook, or a mention of address change in any of these documents if the actual residence of the voter has changed.
Those who wish to register online can visit the government’s https://voters.eci.gov.in Voters’ Service Portal or use the Voter Helpline application to register a new name.
Required Documents for Voter Registration:
For address proof, Aadhaar card, driving license, Indian passport, or the first page photocopy of a nationalized bank passbook is required.
For age proof, Aadhaar card, driving license, Indian passport, school leaving certificate, or PAN card is required.
A colour passport-sized photograph with a white background (background check), and if the voter is a tenant, a registered rent agreement is required.
