Pune: Three Including A Student Arrested For Demanding ‘Hafta’ And Assaulting Hotel Employee In Dighi

Dighi 19th July 2023: The Pimpri Chinchwad Police have booked three persons including a student for allegedly vandalising a hotel and demanding ‘hafta’ (extortion) from a hotel employee to run hotel business in the area. The incident took place near Alandi Road in Dighi area on July 17 and 18.

According to police, the accused allegedly barged into a hotel on July 17 and assaulted the hotel waiter while demanding extortion when he denied to pay them money. The accused again came on July 18 holding sickle and swords in their hands and allegedly vandalised the hotel’s board and CCTV camera.

Police have arrested three accused identified as Aniket alias Guddya Sanjay Metkar (20), Rohit Umesh Lokhande (19) and Abhishek Vikas Adhav (19). They have been booked under sections 385, 387, 427 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with section 4 and 25 of the Arms Act, sections 37 (1) (a) and 134 of the Maharashtra Police Act and Section 7 of the Criminal Law Ammendment Act.
