Pune: Speeding Car Kills Man Bursting Firecrackers on Diwali Night in Ravet
Pimpri Chinchwad, 3rd November 2024: A 35-year-old man, Soham Patel, was killed in a hit-and-run accident while bursting firecrackers on Diwali night. The incident occurred on November 1 in front of Felicity Society, Ravet, Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The speeding car responsible for the accident is yet to be traced, and citizens have voiced their frustration over the lack of action from the police.
CCTV footage of the accident, which has since emerged, shows Soham Patel celebrating Diwali by bursting firecrackers on the road. Around 9 PM, a speeding car struck him with great force, causing him to fall to the side of the road. The severe impact led to a fatal head injury. Nearby residents immediately alerted the authorities, and Patel was rushed to a hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Despite the incident being captured on video, the police have yet to locate the driver responsible. More than 48 hours have passed since the accident, and the absence of any arrests or further developments has angered the local community. Residents are now demanding swift action from the police to find the driver and file charges.
Police investigations are ongoing, with efforts underway to identify the car and the driver involved in the fatal accident.
