Pune: SPPU Initiates Probe into Alleged Fake Marksheet, Degree Case

Pune, 28th July 2026: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has received a complaint regarding the certificates and degree awarded to a particular student.

According to the complaint, fake marksheets, degree certificates and other documents were allegedly prepared in the name of the university. It has also been alleged that the student concerned was financially cheated in connection with the matter.

Taking serious note of the allegations, the university administration has constituted a fact-finding committee on the directions of the Vice-Chancellor to conduct a detailed inquiry into the case. After the committee submits its report, the university will initiate the necessary administrative and legal action based on its findings and recommendations.

The university issued the clarification in view of various reports circulating in the media on the matter, stating that the official statement has been released to present the factual position and provide clarity on the issue.
