Pune, 5th May 2026: NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule and Congress MLA Vijay Wadettiwar on Tuesday raised serious concerns over alleged irregularities in a recent State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) recruitment examination conducted on May 5, demanding a thorough probe into claims that a large number of questions matched those from a private source.

Sule said a video had surfaced claiming that as many as 85 questions in the SRPF exam were identical to those shared earlier by a private coaching class on the messaging platform Telegram. “If this video is true, it is extremely alarming. Thousands of students work tirelessly for government jobs and dedicate crucial years of their lives to exam preparation. These exams must be fair and free from doubt,” she said.

“While it may be understandable if one or two questions match, how did as many as 85 questions appear exactly the same? This must be investigated thoroughly,” she added, urging the government to order a detailed inquiry.

Echoing similar concerns, Wadettiwar alleged that the government was “playing with the future of youth” appearing for competitive exams. Referring to the written test conducted for SRPF Group 5 in Daund, he said the examination had turned into a “mockery of transparency”.

“Out of 100 questions, 85 were allegedly lifted verbatim from a private publication. Was this an exam or an open-book test based on that book?” he asked.

Calling the development a sign of systemic failure, Wadettiwar said such lapses in a sensitive recruitment process raise serious questions. “Nearly 3,977 candidates appeared for the exam with honesty and hard work. The government must decide whether to protect those responsible or punish them. Otherwise, transparency in recruitment will remain only on paper,” he said.
