Pune: St Joseph’s, St Annes U-14s enter SFs of Fr. Schoch Memorial Inter School Hockey 2024

Pimpri, 2nd December 2024: St. Tukaram, St Annes, GRPS Naragaon, St Joseph’s Pashan remained unbeaten in their respective matches in the girl’s Under-14 section and qualified for the semifinals in the Fr. Schoch Memorial Inter School Hockey 2024 at the Maj Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar, Pimpri on Monday.

The tournament is being organised by Loyola High School along with ELAN (Ex-Loyola Alumni Network) and under the aegis of Hockey Maharashtra for school children for the fifth year in succession.

In the day’s matches , GRPS, Narayangaon put out Col Bhagat H.S 1-0 after Anushka Fulsunder (59th) netted the winner. In another encounter, Sant Tukaram HS downed Lokmanya Tilak H.S 1-0. Bhakti Giri (20th) was the lone goal scorer. Both GRPS, Narayangaon and Sant Tukaram HS advanced as their pools were reduced to two.

Earlier, St Joseph’s Pashan won back to back matches. First, St Joseph’s edged out New Millenium 2-1 with Ananaya Nimhan (5th); Caelyn Nesamani (49th) scoring for the winners while Raksha Chotaliya (58th) pulled one back for New Millenium School.

Later St Joseph’s scored a one –sided 3-0 win over Janta H.S. A brace each by Ananaya Nihaman (17th, 59th) and  Rhythm Kurkure (20th, 30th) and a  goal each by Caelyn  Nesamani (7th) and Savani Gaikwad (45th) was enough to close the win.

St Annes joined the semi-finals putting out against Anglo Urdu Girls ‘B’ 3-0. The scorers included, Ananya Thopte (2nd); Divyana Tilokari (4th), Swaranjali Mane (26th).
