Pune: Startup MaidEasy Helps People Find House Help, More Than 200 Registrations Done

Pune, 22 June 2021: During the Corona period, almost everyone had to give leave to their house helpers. As a result, their employment stopped. Some people also said that it is difficult to find a good house help during this period. So, the problem of these two has been solved by a startup called ‘MaidEasy’ in Pune.

Finding a good house helper to do the housework can sometimes be a big headache. The traditional method right now is to remind your loved ones frequently or to ask a neighbour’s house helper.

Many people tend to ask questions like “Does the house helper take proper care of themselves and follow all Covid preventive protocols?” “Can they do Corona cleaning?” Also, people are sceptical about whether the house helper has got Covid or not? Many such questions arise while hiring them. This startup has given the answers to all these. Additionally, most of these house helpers are unorganized domestic women workers. Therefore, they have to work on an individual level to get employment.

The ‘MaidEasy’ Startup has tried to organize them. Having multiple workers in one place has made it easier for them to find employment. So those who hire them also have options. More than 100 citizens have hired women, domestic workers, through this startup.

So far, more than 200 women have registered with the startup. Mandar Ghugari and his wife Sunita Ghugari, who have been IT consultants for more than 20 years, started the startup in March last year.

MaidEasy unites women housemaids and provides them training on how to behave from housework to work. The concerned worker is also medically examined before starting work. The police verification is also done. They are also provided accident insurance. Lastly, workers are paid according to what and how much work there is.

More than two lakh household workers in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad city as well as in the surrounding areas belong to the unorganized sector. Hence, most of their demands are not met. Thus, the ‘MaidEasy’ startup is a small yet significant step towards helping these women get a job and also citizens get a verified housemaid.
