Pune, 21st November 2025: The Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE), Pune, hosted the third edition of its Round Table on “MSME and Viksit Bharat @2047” on November 20, bringing together industry leaders, startup mentors and policy experts for an intensive discussion on the future of India’s micro, small and medium enterprises.

The consultation was convened by Shantanu Srivastava, Managing Director of Ishan International/Ishan Foundation, and Aditya Pittie, Managing Director of PYN Autocomp Pvt Ltd. The session focused on bold, forward-looking strategies aimed at accelerating MSME growth and strengthening India’s position in global markets.

Participants discussed key priorities such as achieving a 15 per cent annual growth rate in the MSME sector, improving alignment with government schemes, and addressing persistent on-ground challenges that hinder expansion. The round table also emphasised the need to significantly boost startup success rates — from the current 10 per cent to over 50 per cent — through stronger mentoring networks, risk-mitigation frameworks and robust skill-development support systems.

Speakers underscored the central role of MSMEs in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. The institute reiterated its commitment to facilitating informed policy dialogues and supporting evidence-based decision-making for national development.

GIPE announced that a detailed policy brief based on the deliberations will be published soon.
