Pune: Step-Mother Beats, Burns And Kills Five-Year-Old Step-Daughter
Shivane, 24th February 2023: A five-year-old girl was burnt to death by her stepmother in the Shivane area on NDA road. The Uttamnagar police arrested the stepmother in this case. In this case, stepmother Ritika Rajesh Anand (35), a resident of Dhavande Building, Shivane, NDA Road, was arrested. Police constable Gholap has filed a complaint in this regard at Uttamnagar police station.
Rajesh Anand works in a private company. Rajesh’s first wife died due to an illness. Rajesh has a five-year-old daughter. Rajesh remarried Ritika to raise the five-year-old with her. The young girl would often cry because she missed her mother. Three days ago, Ritika hit the five-year-old on the head with a hard object and burnt her.
Ritika took her to a private hospital. She narrated a fake story to the doctor, saying that the young girl fainted after having a fit. A medical examination revealed that the five-year-old was dead. Marks of beating and burning were found on her body. As the doctors became suspicious, they informed the police about the incident.
Police rushed to the spot. After the investigation revealed that the girl’s death was due to beating and burning, the police detained the stepmother for questioning. During the interrogation, she initially gave a vague answer, which raised the suspicion of the police. During interrogation, she confessed that she killed the girl as she was causing trouble. Uttamnagar Police Senior Police Inspector Sunil Jaitapurkar is investigating the case further.
