Pune: Stepfather Arrested For Killing 3-Year-Old Daughter
Katraj, 17th April 2022: A 33-year-old man has been arrested by Pune city police for killing his three-year-old daughter born to his wife’s adultery. The accused and his wife had pretended that the girl had died by falling from a height.
However, the post-mortem report revealed that she had sustained severe head injuries and had bite marks.
The arrested accused is identified as Jitendra Uttam Patil of Ambegaon Budruk. His wife has registered an FIR with Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. The incident took place between April 13 and 15.
According to police, Patil is from Jalgaon and his wife hails from the Gondia district. The couple got married in January. Patil told police that her family had said she is a divorcee with the daughter from her first marriage. After marriage, he came to know that the girl was born out of her affair. This led to frequent disputes between the two. After one such argument, he severely beat up the child and bashed her against a wall. She succumbed to her injuries.
After her death, the couple told the police that the girl fell from a height and died due to severe head injuries. However, post-mortem at Sassoon Hospital nailed their lies.
