Pune: Stray Dog Attack in Pimpri-Chinchwad Sparks Fear; CCTV Footage Goes Viral
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 23rd August 2025: A shocking CCTV video from Chikhali’s More Vasti in Pimpri-Chinchwad has intensified concerns about stray dog attacks, an issue currently being debated nationwide and even before the Supreme Court.
The incident occurred around 5 a.m. on Friday when a young man was leaving for work. CCTV footage shows a pack of stray dogs suddenly chasing and attacking him from behind in Sane Colony. One of the dogs attempted to bite his hand, but the youth quickly took cover behind a parked two-wheeler, managing to escape serious injuries.
Startled by his screams, residents rushed outside. Their shouts forced the dogs to back off, but they lingered in the area for a while. The footage has since gone viral, causing fear among locals.
Residents of More Vasti have urged the municipal authorities to take immediate steps to address the growing stray dog menace. Many citizens claim the incident underscores the urgent need for a proper stray animal management policy.
