Pune, 23rd August 2025: As Ganeshotsav preparations gather momentum across Pune and Maharashtra, a unique initiative is offering devotees the chance to take home Ganesh idols at a price they can afford.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray will inaugurat this initiative in the program organized by Pralhad Gawali Mitra Parivar at Raviwar Peth, Pune. Under this initiative, which has been running for the past five years, over 7,000 Ganesh idols of various designs are made available each year to citizens at a price determined by them.

The concept was originally suggested by Ashok Godse, the then president of Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust. The aim is to ensure that no family is deprived of installing their beloved Ganpati due to financial constraints. Devotees can select from a range of small and large idols and pay an amount they find affordable.

MNS activist Pralhad Gawali stated that this year too, more than 7,000 idols of different designs and sizes will be distributed under the initiative. The program has been widely appreciated for allowing everyone, regardless of their financial status, to participate in the festival and bring home Lord Ganesha with dignity.
