Pune: Stress Of PCMC Teachers Will Be Reduced; Recruitment Of 105 Data Entry Operators
Pimpri, 28th February 2023: Instead of teaching students, teachers in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) schools are spending more time on other administrative tasks, sending various information to the government and municipality, and typing this information. Therefore, the Education Department of the Municipal Corporation has started taking steps to plan a solution for this. 105 Data Entry Operator positions will be filled on a contract basis for all schools of the municipality.
PCMC has 105 primary and 18 secondary schools in Marathi, Hindi, English, and Urdu mediums. More than 42,000 students are studying in these schools. While the number of students is large, the number of teachers to teach the students in the municipal schools is less.
Therefore, two months ago, the municipality recruited around 250 contract teachers. The Education Department of the municipality is implementing various activities to improve the quality of students. However, at present, teachers have to do various tasks like sending various reports to the government and municipality, filling in the data of students online for set approval, filling in the information of medical examination, saving all the data of the students, including keeping the information about sports, filling the information in excel seat on the computer, and others.
Therefore, instead of teaching students, teachers are spending more time on administrative and other activities. This is directly affecting the quality of education for the students. Considering this, the Education Department of the Municipal Corporation has now decided to fill 105 Data Entry Operators on a contract basis to carry out administrative work.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner of the Education Department Sandeep Khot informed that the valuable time of teachers is being wasted on various tasks. Considering this, 105 Data Entry Operators will be filled on a contract basis for all schools of the municipality. This will allow the teachers to give maximum time to teach.
