Fursungi, 5th October 2026: A 22-year-old final-year B.Sc. Computer Science student from Haveli taluka has gone missing after leaving her home for college, prompting the Fursungi police to launch an investigation into her whereabouts.

According to the complaint lodged by her father, the woman left home on Thursday morning saying she was going to college. However, she did not return by evening. Her family subsequently contacted her friends and relatives and searched areas where she was likely to have gone, but could not trace her.

The family later received an email addressed to her mother, brother and younger sister. In the message, the woman reportedly stated that she had left with a young man and planned to marry him. She also mentioned that the man was living with HIV/AIDS.

The email heightened concerns among her family members, who attempted to contact her to ascertain her location and safety. However, they were unable to obtain clear information about where she had gone or the identity and whereabouts of the man accompanying her.

The family then approached the police, following which a missing person case was registered at Fursungi Police Station under Pune City Police.

Police teams are now attempting to locate the student and the young man mentioned in the email. Investigators are verifying the information provided in the message and examining other available leads to establish her movements after she left home.

The woman is a final-year student at a private college and is from a village in Haveli taluka.

Police said the immediate priority is to trace the woman and ascertain her safety and circumstances. Investigators are also working to determine whether she left voluntarily and to establish the whereabouts of the man she reportedly accompanied.
