Pimpri Chinchwad, 13th February 2025: A student from the government hostel for backward class girls in Moshi has been shifted to another hostel after she applied for a transfer following a controversy over ordering pizza from outside.

The issue began when empty pizza boxes were found in a hostel room, prompting the administration to issue a strict notice. Since ordering food from outside is prohibited in the hostel, the notice warned that if the students failed to disclose who ordered the pizza, the responsible person could face a one-month suspension from the hostel.

Fearing repercussions, one of the students contacted her parents and approached the Commissioner of the Social Welfare Department on February 10, requesting a hostel transfer.

The student cited long travel distance between her college and the Moshi hostel as another reason for seeking a shift. Considering her request, authorities approved her admission to the government hostel for backward class girls in Vishrantwadi, Yerawada, for her convenience.

Confirming the transfer, Assistant Commissioner Vishal Londhe stated, “The student had applied for a change of hostel. Since the distance between her college and the Moshi hostel was long, we approved her transfer to the Vishrantwadi hostel as per her request.”
