Pune Students Alert: PMC to Give Up to Rs 25,000 Educational Assistance; Apply From August 17

Pune, 12th August 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will provide financial assistance to eligible students who have passed Class 10 and Class 12 and are residents within the civic limits.

Under the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Educational Financial Assistance Scheme, eligible Class 10 students will receive Rs 15,000. Class 12 students will receive Rs 25,000 under the Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Educational Financial Assistance Scheme.

The online application process will begin on August 17, and students can submit their applications until December 31. The schemes are implemented annually by the PMC’s Social Development Department, benefiting around 12,000 to 15,000 students every year.

The PMC has allocated around Rs 20 crore in its 2026-27 budget for providing educational financial assistance under the schemes.

Eligibility
Open category: Minimum 80% marks in Class 10 or Class 12.
Backward-class students: Minimum 70% marks for students studying in state government or PMC-aided schools.
Students with more than 40% disability: Minimum 45% marks.
Children of waste pickers, construction workers and unorganised workers: Minimum 65% marks.

Students will have to apply online in their parent’s name. They must scan and upload the required original documents and submit an undertaking confirming their admission to a college.

To receive the assistance, beneficiaries must have a nationalised bank account linked to Aadhaar.

The PMC said the financial assistance is aimed at helping students continue their higher education after completing Class 10 or Class 12.
