Pune, 28th March 2024: With the end of March approaching, a surge in citizens rushing to register documents was witnessed. However, with three consecutive government holidays falling from Friday (29th March) to Sunday (31st March), concerns arose regarding potential inconvenience to citizens. To address this issue, Joint District Registrar Santosh Hingane announced the decision to keep all sub-registrar offices in the city open, even on holidays.

Explaining the rationale behind the decision, Hingane noted that April 1st marks the annual recalibration of rates, leading to heightened activity in sub-registrar offices during March. The consecutive government holidays posed a challenge in meeting the increased demand. Therefore, to alleviate inconvenience for citizens, it was decided to extend office hours during the holiday period.

Additionally, Hingane emphasized that Joint District Registrar Offices would continue operations for facilitating transfer decisions and the Abhay Yojana, ensuring essential services remained accessible to the public during this period.
