Pune: Fire Breaks Out in Railway Coach at Daund Railway Station

A condemned coach experienced a smoke and fire outbreak at Daund railway station today.

However, railway authorities were able to swiftly control the situation using fire extinguishers. The incident occurred today at approximately 4:30 PM.

According to a railway official, the fire was contained rapidly due to its proximity to a nearby water pipe, which is used for train washing purposes. This allowed for immediate access to water, aiding in the firefighting efforts.

As of now, the cause of the fire remains unknown. A detailed investigation is currently underway, which is expected to provide more information regarding the incident.

It is important to note that the affected coach was not part of any regular running train, highlighting that it was a condemned or out-of-service unit.
