Pune: Supriya Sule Criticizes Government for Ignoring Protocol in Union Minister’s Program in Indapur

Indapur, 6th June 2023: Supriya Sule, the Member of Parliament representing the Baramati constituency in Pune, took to Twitter to express her disappointment with the government’s failure to invite local leaders to an event attended by Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Prahlad Patel, in Indapur. The occasion marked the groundbreaking and launch of the central government’s flagship program, ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’.
Sule voiced her concern regarding the protocol that dictates the inclusion of local public representatives when Union Ministers visit their respective areas for official functions. According to her, government programs are meant for the people and should not be limited to any particular political party. However, this standard was not upheld during Minister Patel’s visit.
Drawing attention to her role as the area’s Member of Parliament, Sule emphasized that both she and Dattatray Bharne, a local MLA and party leader, had actively engaged with relevant officials in facilitating the Jal Jeevan Mission program. Funding for the initiative was allocated through the Zila Parishad. Sule further criticized the event, alleging that it was organized akin to a political rally for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
