Pune: Swargate Police Arrest Four Persons With 11 Pistols, 31 Cartridges

Pune, November 14, 2020: In yet another major operation, Swargate police station officials have arrested four people, including a college student for allegedly supplying country-made pistols to criminal gangs in the city.

The arrested have been identified as Raju Jadhav (20), Pramod Parse(19), Sohail alias Laden Modin Asangi (22), residents of Katraj, and firearms supplier Ballusingh Shikalgar (49) of Buldhana district.

Acting on a tip-off received by policemen Dnyana Bade and Manoj Bhokre, Swargate police laid a trap and caught Parse red-handed. Two pistols and four cartridges were seized from his possession. Upon questioning Parse and his friend Jadhav, both confessed to buying 13 pistols from Shikalgar from Buldhana.

The probe further revealed that the two had bought a total of 13 pistols and cartridges from Shikalgar and had also sold four of them to Asangi. The cops have recovered 11 pistols and 31 cartridges, total worth Rs 4.7 lakh, from the four accused.

The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (West region) Sanjay Shinde, DCP (Zone 2) Sagar Patil, ACP (Swargate division) Sarjerao Babar. The investigation team included Senior Police Inspector Bramhanand Naikwadi, detection branch Police Sub Inspector Suresh Jaybhaye, and policemen Mahendra Jagtap, Pandharinath Shinde, Arun Patil, Ramchandra Gurav, Vijay Kumbhar, Vijay Khomne, Mahesh Baravkar, Dnyana Bade, Manoj Bhokre, Sachin Dalvi, Amit Shinde, Vaibhav Shitkal, Mahesh Kante, Bhushan Unde, Babasaheb Shinde and Shankar Gaikwad.
