Pune: Swargate Police Busts Koyta Gang’s Terror Reign in Gultekdi Area

Swargate, 14th March 2023: Sachin Mane, alleged leader of the Koyta Gang, was apprehended by a team of Swargate Police Station. Along with Mane, nine of his alleged accomplices were arrested, and weapons such as Koyta, Talwar, and Palghan were confiscated.

The accused have been identified as Sachin Parashuram Mane (24), Rohit Madhukar Jadhav (27), Ajay Pramod Dikhle (24), Yash Kisan Mane (18), Amar Tanaji Jadhav (32), Vijay Pramod Dikhle (18), Monya alias Suraj Satish Kakade (26), all residents of Gultekdi, and Nikhil Rakesh Petkar (22), residing near Aimata Mandir in Bibvewadi.

According to Senior Police Inspector Ashok Indalkar of Swargate Police Station, the accused have been booked under the MCOCA Act, along with Palya Pasange (21), Ayush Kisan Mane (21), Maya alias Abhishek Patole (22), Pramod alias Pamya, and a minor boy who were accomplices of the accused.

According to police, Sachin Mane and his associates had attacked Prakash Pawar and his associates of a rival gang with a spear during a dispute over territorial control of the Gultekdi Industrial Colony (Meenatai Thackeray Colony). Mane and his accomplices had unleashed terror in the area using Koyta. After vandalizing the area, the accused fled the scene.

The detection branch team received information that Mane Ghorpade, who had fled the area, was returning to Peth area to meet his girlfriend. The police then set a trap and tried to apprehend him, but he resisted, and Policeman Shiva Gaikwad was injured in the encounter.

The action was taken under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Smartana Patil, ACP Sunil Pawar and Swargate Police Station Senior Police Inspector Ashok Indalkar. The team included Police Inspector (Crime) Somnath Gaikwad, Assistant Police Inspector Prashant Sande, Sub-Inspector Ashok Yewle and policemen Mukund Taru, Shiva Gaikwad, Anis Sheikh, Deepak Khendad, Sujay Pawar, Somnath Kamble, Feroze Sheikh and Ramesh Chavan.
