Pune, 17th September 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced that the Jedhe Chowk underpass at Swargate will remain closed for traffic for three days to facilitate repair work. The closure will begin at 11 pm on Friday, September 19, and continue until 7 am on Monday, September 22.

The underpass, constructed a few years ago to ease movement of vehicles from Vega Center towards Sarasbaug, is undergoing essential maintenance. During this period, vehicles coming from Hadapsar towards Shivajinagar and Sinhagad Road will be diverted. Motorists will have to pass directly through Jedhe Chowk instead of using the underpass.

Officials have warned that the closure could lead to heavy traffic congestion in the Swargate area, one of Pune’s busiest junctions. To manage the situation, the administration has emphasized the need to keep roads and pedestrian walkways around the square free of encroachments. Authorities have also instructed action against vehicles operating illegally to prevent further disruption.

The PMC has appealed to citizens to cooperate with the traffic diversions and plan their travel accordingly.
