Pune: Symbiosis School Of Economics Organises International Conference On Employment

Pune, 13th January 2023: The second conference on “Future of Employment: Challenges and Opportunities (FECO II)” will be held at Symbiosis Vishwabhavan on the 18th and 19th of January.
FECO 2023 is organized by the Symbiosis School of Economics, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) (SIU), in collaboration with Niti Aayog, Institute of Human Development (IHD), among others.
Building on the success of the previous conference held in 2019, FECO II is expected to be one of the most significant international academic conferences in the field of employment and its challenges. It draws together researchers, academicians, and practitioners around the world to exchange, reveal, and promote the latest ideas and practices about generating more employment opportunities, reducing unequal wages based on gender, improving working conditions for labour, and creating a strong welfare system in developing and emerging nations.
FECO II is divided into five well-curated tracks, besides the inaugural and valedictory sessions and also has paper presenters from India as well as abroad to share their focused research following the themes identified for each of the sessions.
The inaugural session of the conference has a distinguished array of speakers which include Satoshi Sasaki, Deputy Director – ILO, Prof Santosh Mehrotra, Retd Prof, JNU and Visiting Prof – University of Bath and Prof Alakh Sharma, Director, Institute of Human Development. They will give an overview of employment status globally and in India and the opportunities to be seized to realize Sustainable Development Goal 8, which speaks of decent work and economic growth.
FECO II will realize collaborative learning outcomes – in the form of policy prescription and detailed conference reports and also translate into research papers getting published through the peer review process in leading journals:
