Pune: Taluka-Level Lokshahi Din to Be Held Monthly for Citizen Grievance Redressal

Pune, 4th February 2025: In a move to streamline citizen grievance redressal and ensure timely access to government schemes, the Pune district administration has announced that Taluka-level Lokshahi Din will be organized on the third Monday of every month. A circular to this effect has been issued by District Collector Jitendra Dudi, aligning with the state government’s 100-day priority action plan.
The initiative aims to resolve local issues at the taluka level itself, reducing the need for citizens to escalate their concerns to district-level offices. “It has been observed that many citizens repeatedly visit the District Collector’s Office and other district-level offices due to delays in resolving their grievances at regional offices. This results in an increased number of complaints and unnecessary hardships for people,” the circular stated.
The seven-point action program set by the Chief Minister focuses on making daily life easier for citizens by ensuring efficient administration and faster grievance resolution. As part of this plan, the taluka-level Lokshahi Din will act as a dedicated platform for citizens to directly present their issues before local administration officials.
“If citizen grievances are resolved within the stipulated time at regional offices, their dependency on district offices will decrease, leading to a more effective and citizen-friendly administration,” the circular added.
In case the third Monday falls on a public holiday, the Lokshahi Din will be held on the next working day. This initiative is expected to improve governance and enhance the delivery of public services at the grassroots level.
