Pune: Team Manyavar team wins team title in Ashok Ruia Memorial Winter National Bridge Championship

Pune, 11th December 2024: Team Manyavar team, which was leading after four rounds of the Ashok Ruia Memorial Winter National Bridge Championship organized by the Pune Region Bridge Association and sanctioned by the Bridge Federation of India (BFI), Maharashtra Bridge Association (MBA), maintained its brilliant performance in the remaining three rounds today and won the team title.

In this competition, which is being held at Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Balewadi, the thirteenth seeded Team Manyavar team consisting of Anil Padhye, Anand Samant, Sundaram Sridhar, Jitu Solani and Rajesh Dalal, secured the title by scoring 105.93 points in the team category. This performance has secured a direct place in the semi-finals of the Indian team selection trial for the World Championship.

In the tight race for the runner-up title, the seventh-placed Hemant Jalan team won the runner-up title by beating the second-placed Dhamapur Sugar Mills team and the third-placed Shree Cements team by just 0.8 points. The Dhampur Sugar Mills team finished third, while the Aristos team finished fourth. The Aquarius team finished fifth.

In the mixed pairs competition, the pair of Bindiya Kohli and TV Ramani won the Mishra doubles title by a whopping 23 points over the second-placed pair. The young pair of Aditi Zaveri and Vishwajit Poddar won the second place.
