Pune: Team Yuva Conducts Cleanup Drive at Rajgad Fort to Promote Heritage Conservation

Pune, 4th March 2025: Concerned by the rising issue of garbage accumulation at Rajgad Fort, a group of young professionals from Team Yuva organized a cleanliness drive on March 2 to preserve the historic site’s integrity.
A total of 18 enthusiastic volunteers participated in the initiative, collecting and properly disposing of plastic bottles, wrappers, and other waste left behind by tourists. The drive was led by Sahil Pawar, Tejas Wabale, Surya Kola, and Gaurav Lonari, who emphasized the importance of दुर्गसंवर्धन (Durgsanvardhan)—fort conservation—and raising awareness about responsible tourism.
“Rajgad Fort is not just a tourist destination but a significant part of Maharashtra’s rich history. It is our collective responsibility to protect and maintain it,” said Sahil Pawar, one of the team leaders.
The volunteers also engaged with visitors, urging them to be more mindful of their waste disposal habits. Through their efforts, Team Yuva hopes to inspire more people to take an active role in preserving cultural heritage.
The group has pledged to conduct more such drives in the future and encourages the community to participate in keeping historic sites clean.
