Pune: Techies Facing Difficulties Due To Everyday Traffic Jam In Hinjewadi IT Park Area, Demand Solutions
Hinjewadi, 1st February 2023: Techies in the Hinjewadi area are experiencing heavy traffic jams every day as the signal system is off. It takes them more than 30 minutes to travel just a few meters. The engineers working in the same area get stuck in this traffic jam daily.
As the signal system in Hinjewadi is closed in some places, traffic congestion is increasing and drivers are facing a dilemma as the police and wardens are not present at the designated spot.
In this regard, the engineers of the IT Park area have expressed their displeasure on Twitter and have tried to draw the attention of the administration to this problem. Immediate action has been demanded on this.
The work of the Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro is currently underway. Many companies in the Hinjewadi area have restarted after the Covid-19 pandemic, and the work-from-home method has almost stopped. Computer engineers have started coming to work in the company every day, and the road has become narrow due to the barricades being put up in the area as the metro work is going on. In addition, the traffic jams are increasing day-by-day as the signal system is closed. The work of the alternative road to exit from Hinjewadi IT Park is currently stalled.
As the road (bridge over the canal) connecting Balewadi to Hinjewadi Phase One is not open, vehicles have to travel on a single road. From Hinjewadi’s Shri Shivchhatrapati Chowk further towards Lakshmi Chowk one has to stop at two signals. The presence of wardens and traffic police while proceeding from this chowk to Bhumkar chowk is helping to solve this dilemma to some extent. However, due to ongoing road work and metro work, drivers are facing difficulty if they take the main road from Hinjewadi to the Pune-Bangalore highway.
