Pune: Tender Process For Construction Of Medical College In Final Stage; PMC Approved Expenditure Of Rs 147 Crores

Pune, 19th November 2022: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has conducted a tender process for the construction of the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College and seven proposals have been received by the PMC. Scrutiny of the proposals has been initiated by the administration and the process is in the final stage.

 

The building of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College will be constructed on the premises of Dr Naidu Infectious Disease Hospital near Pune RTO. For this, the municipal corporation has approved the expenditure of Rs 147 crores. The construction of the hospital and student hostel will be done through public-private public participation (PPP). For this, a tender process was implemented by the municipal administration.

 

It has received a response and seven proposals have been filed. Its scrutiny has been started by the municipal administration.

 

Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College has been started this year on behalf of the Municipal Corporation. Although the college is currently running in Mangalwar Peth, the hospital will be set up on the 12.5-acre land of Naidu Hospital. A trust has been set up to run the medical college. Necessary buildings along with a college, hostel, and hospital are planned to be constructed on a PPP basis.
