Pune: Tewari oust seeded Fujioka to make second round of qualifying at MSLTA ITF Asian B1 Championships

Pune, 17th September 2022: Unseeded Prajwal Tewari upset fourth seeded Roshu Fujioka of Japan 6-2,5-7,10-4 to move into the second round of the boys qualifying at the MSLTA-PMDTA ITF Asian B1 Championships being organised by MSLTA PMDTA and played at the Deccan Gymkhana Courts in Pune

 

In well contested qualifying matches Third seeded Iliyas Maratuly of Kazakhstan edged out a fighting local boy Anmol Nagpure 4-6,6-4, 10-5 to move into the round two

 

In the girls qualifying first round Nainika Narender Reddy Bendram came back from loss of the first set to get past Laxmisiri Dandu 0-6, 7-6(2),10-2 , in another close match Eighth seeded Rioko Umekuni of Japan came back from loss of the opening set to stop Amodini Naik 2-6,6-4,10-3.
