Pune: Thane Judokas Champs, Krida Prabodhini Runners Up In Judo Championship

Pune, 24th April 2022: Thane judokas proved to be a supreme force by garnering 29 points and emerged champions in MLA Cup 48th State Junior (Boys and Girls) Championship 2022, conducted under the aegis of Maharashtra Judo Association, at Kesariwada, Tilak Road, on Saturday.

 

 

Thane finished their campaign with 2 gold, six silver and 1 bronze medal.

 

 

The runners-up slot was claimed by Krida Prabodhini, Balewadi who finished with 19 points to their credit. On the concluding day, Krida Prabodhini had Om Hingamire subdue Aditya Gosavi (Dhule) to claim the Under 55 kgs boys’ title and add up to his team’s tally of 3 gold and 4 bronze medals.

 

 

Among the surprises, Poona District Judo Association (PDJA) added two titles to their name. In the Above 100 kgs title-clash, Aditya Parab adopted an aggressive approach against Manvardhan Patil and completed his bout in the opening minute.

 

 

Later, in the Under 63 kgs girl’s final, Gautami Kanchan got the better of the challenge from Shrankala Ratnaparkhi (Aurangabad) to claim gold.

 

 

Among other districts/ units to claim top spot included, Harshvardhan Patil (Sangli – Boy’s Under 66 kgs), Jayesh Shete (Nashik – Boys Under 73 kgs), Pratham Gurav (Mumbai – Boys Under 60 kgs) and Mithali Bhosale (Kolhapur – Girls Under 44 kgs)

 

 

The three-day championship was contested in a total of 15 weight group categories in both the boys and girls sections respectively.

Under 66 kgs, Final: Harshvardhan Patil (Sangli) bt Dev Thapa (Thane). Bronze: Ishan Sonawane (Nashik) bt Ayush Phalke (Mumbai)

 

 

Under 73 kgs, Final: Jayesh Shete (Nashik) bt Shreyas Rathwal (Kolhapur). Bronze: Ishan Dhadwe (Poona District Judo Association) bt Laxman Dhangar (Ahmednagar)

 

 

Above 100 kgs, Final: Aditya Parab (PDJA) bt Manvardhan Patil (Thane). Bronze: Sahil Suvarna (Mumbai) bt Rajwardhan Patil (Kolhapur)

 

 

Under 60 kgs, Final: Pratham Gurav (Mumbai) bt Sagar Jadhav (Yavatmal). Bronze: Yogesh Shahane (Amravati) bt Pranit Godse (Krida Prabodhini, Balewadi)

 

 

Girls; Under 44 kgs, Final: Mithali Bhosale (Kolhapur) bt Vaishnavi Patil (Kolhapur). Bronze: Prerna Shelar (Krida Prabodhini, Balewadi) bt Geeta Hande (Wardha)

 

 

Under 63 kgs, Final: Gautami Kanchan (PDJA) bt Shrankala Ratnaparkhi (Aurangabad). Bronze: Shanvi Khot (Mumbai) bt Minal Khare (Gondia).
