Pune: The 69th Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav begins with garlanding the statue of Sawai Gandharva
Pune, 13th December 2023:Continuing the tradition, the 69th Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav commenced with garlanding the statue of Sawai Gandharva at the Sambhaji Garden, Jangli Maharaj Road today. Every year, the families of Sawai Gandharva and Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi come together and pay their tributes to Sawai Gandharva’s statue by adorning it with a garland. This has been an unbroken tradition, that has continued for the last 50 years now.
Arya Sangeet Prasarak Mandal’s trustees like Shrinivas Joshi, Shilpa Joshi, Viraj Joshi, Shubhada Mulgund, Pt. Upendra Bhat, Anand Bhate, Dr Prabhakar Deshpande, Milind Deshpande, Padma Deshpande, Shaila Deshpande, and Shruti Deshpande were present on the occasion.
