Kondhwa, 26th April 2025: In a heart-wrenching moment, Sangeeta Ganbote, wife of Pahalgam terror attack victim Kaustubh Ganbote, broke down as she showed her husband’s blood-stained clothes to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during his visit to her home in Kondhwa on Saturday.

Kaustubh Ganbote and Santosh Jagdale, both residents of Pune, were among the 26 tourists killed by terrorists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22. The attack, which has sparked outrage across the nation, has left families grappling with unbearable grief and anger.

Chief Minister Fadnavis, accompanied by Minister Madhuri Misal, former MLA Yogesh Tilekar, and BJP Pune City President Dheeraj Ghate, visited the family to offer condolences and assure government support. “The entire state stands with you in this hour of grief,” Fadnavis said promising all necessary assistance.

At the Ganbote residence, Sangeeta recounted the horrifying ordeal. Fighting back tears, she told the Chief Minister, “When we first heard two or three gunshots, we were told it was a lion. But soon after, heavy firing started.” She expressed deep anguish over the lack of security measures at Pahalgam. “There were check posts and security guards everywhere else, but not at Pahalgam,” she said, her voice breaking as she handed over her husband’s blood-soaked clothes as silent testimony to the tragedy.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also visited the residence of late Santosh Jagdale in Karvenagar, where he met Jagdale’s wife, Pragati, and daughter, Asawari. They recounted their ordeal and sought assistance from the Chief Minister.
