Pune, 3rd February 2022: Kunal Raju Kamble, who was making obscene language and threatening reels with an 18-year-old girl on the Instagram account Thergaon Queen, has been arrested by Pimpri Chinchwad Police.
Kunal used to make a reel on Instagram with Sakshi Hemant Shrishrimal (18) and Sakshi Rakesh Kashyap (age 18) who were earlier arrested in this case. The three have been charged under sections 292, 294, 506, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 67 of the Information Technology Act.
Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash has set up a social media cell to monitor the spread of objectionable content on social media sites and to take legal action against reprehensible videos that have gone viral under ‘Zero Tolerance’ initiative. The team is functioning under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Devendra Chavan of the social security cell which includes Police Sub-Inspectors Pradipsingh Sisode, Dhairyashil Solanke.
The Thergaon Queen profile has been promoting vulgar language and making threatening reels on Instagram for the past few months. The two girls were recently arrested, however, their accomplice Kunal was absconding. He was taken into custody from Jangli Maharaj Road in Pune, said Inspector Devendra Chavan.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Kakasaheb Dole said that the three accused used obscene language and words in public places and made many threatening videos and disseminated them on social media.
Senior Police Inspector Dr Vivek Muglikar, in-charge of Wakad police station where an FIR is registered against the accused, said that they wanted more followers and hence made indecent language reels.
After being arrested, Kunal apologized to the police by joining hands. He said, “I made mistakes by making such videos. Many girls were hurt. I apologize to everyone and will never make videos like this again. I’m sorry”.
