Pune: Thieves Passion For Yamaha RX Bikes Ends In Arrest, Four Stolen Bikes Recovered

Pune, 21st June 2023: The Anti-Robbery and Anti-Vehicle Theft Squad of Pune Police Crime Branch has apprehended two individuals involved in a series of thefts that targeted Yamaha RX bikes across Pune city.

The arrested 20-year-old person, identified as Nagesh Ramesh Bedjangam, currently residing in Loni Kalbhor with native ties to Solapur, was accompanied by a minor who has been detained.

Policemen Sumeet Takpere and Mahesh Patil received information while on patrol in the Magarpatta Hadapsar area regarding two individuals riding a two-wheeler without a number plate. Acting promptly, a team led by Senior Police Inspector Bramhanand Naikwadi successfully apprehended Nagesh Bedjangam and his minor associate. Initially claiming a lack of documents for the vehicle, Nagesh later admitted to stealing it from the Manjari area.

Upon further investigation, the accused confessed to targeting Yamaha RX bikes for his sheer fondness for the bike. Four bikes have been seized from the accused. He confessed that he had stolen these two-wheelers from Hadapsar, Vimannagar, Yerwada, and the Alandi area.

This successful operation was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende and ACP Satish Govekar.
