Pune: Thieves strike at 9 shops in Aundh, Baner area

Aundh/Baner, June 8, 2020: Two unidentified thieves broke open nine shops in Aundh and Baner on intervening night of June 6 and 7 and decamped with valuables worth Rs 54,500 which included Rs 27,500 cash.

Ramesh Chaudhary (34), owner of Ramesh mini market near Parihar chowk in Aundh, has lodged an FIR with Chaturshringi police station against the unidentified thieves. The incident took place between 9 pm June 6 to 6.30 am on June 7. The two thieves came on a bike and broke open the shutter. The fled after stealing Rs 27,000 cash.

The thieves went on to break into eight more shops Go Colors, Sunshine Hosiery, Allen Solly, shoeXpress, Poonam Collection, Asian Paints, Baskin Robbins, Gokul Sweets in Aundh and Baner area

The traders informed the police after the incident came to light on Sunday morning. Police immediately rushed to the spot. Cops have obtained CCTV footage in which two thieves can be seen riding bikes. They were wearing raincoats, hats, gloves and masks. Police Sub Inspector MA Jadhav is further investigating the case.
