Pune: This Is How Patients Are Admitted In Jumbo COVID Hospital, Walk-In Not Allowed

Shivajinagar, September 12, 2020: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has come out with an admission policy for Jumbo COVID Hospital, located on the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) ground, based on best practices. The decision was taken to streamline the process due to a large number of Coronavirus disease (COVID19) patients in the city. Recently, the agency which was managing the Jumbo hospital was replaced, informed PMC Additional Commissioner Rubal Agarwal, who is also the executive head of the jumbo centre.

 Agarwal said that the over five lakh tests have been done and 1.15 lakh COVID positive cases have been detected in Pune. “The recovery rate is 82 percent. There is no need to panic. The testing is very high in Pune as compared to other cities in the country”, she added.

According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the total number of Coronavirus positive patients till date has reached 115,770 out of which 96,025 have been cured while 2706 have died. There are still 17039 active patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals. They include 917 critical patients out of which 470 are on ventilator support.
