Pune: Three Family Members Electrocuted in Daund Tragedy
Daund, 17th June 2024: Three members of the same family died from an electric shock in Daund Taluka, Pune. The victims were Sunil Devidas Bhalekar (45), Adika Sunil Bhalekar (40), and their son Parashuram Sunil Bhalekar (17), all residents of Dapodi, Daund. The incident occurred yesterday when Sunil Bhalekar was electrocuted while drying towels outside their home. Adika attempted to rescue him but also succumbed to the electric shock. Their son, Parashuram, rushed to help and met the same fate.
The incident took place due to the electric supply wire that led to their house was exposed after its protective covering was blown off by the wind. This exposed wire caused electricity to flow into their home.
Originally from Solapur, the Bhalekar family was involved in the work within the construction sector in the Dapodi-Kedgaon area. Sunil Bhalekar had one daughter and two sons. The surviving daughter was away at her tuition class during the incident, while his second son was visiting their native village.
