Pune: Three Men Open Fire At Shopkeeper, Steal Cash Worth Rs 4 Lakh

Swargate 21st July 2023: The Pune City Police have booked three unidentified men for opening fire on a shopkeeper in the Swargate area and stealing cash worth Rs 4 lakh from his possession. The incident took place at around 9 pm near Ganesh Kala Krida Manch at Swargate on Wednesday.
According to police, the complainant runs a wholesale shop in the city and he was returning hone with cash earned from business when three bike-borne men tried to snatch bag containing cash from him. However, when he resisted the accused opened fire at him in which he sustained serious bullet injuries on his back and leg.
The accused also opened fire towards his employee who was trying to intervene. The shopkeeper has been admitted to hospital for the treatment.
A case in this regard has been registered at Swargate police station under sections 397 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with sections 37 (1) 135 if the Maharashtra Police Act and section 3 (35) of the Arms Act. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
