Pune: Three Notorious Criminals from Hinjawadi, Chakan, and Pimpri Sent to Yerawada Jail by Pimpri Chinchwad Police

Pimpri Chinchwad, 21st April 2024: In light of the impending Lok Sabha elections, Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey has taken preventive action by ordering the detention of three history-sheeters from the Pimpri, Chakan, and Hinjawadi areas in Yerawada Jail.

 

The individuals in question are Salman Ramzan Sheikh (28 years old, residing in Kalewadi), Satish alias Prashant Baburao Datar (21 years old, residing in Chakan), and Shubham Rup Singh Bhat (26 years old, residing in Thergaon).

 

Salman Ramzan Sheikh, known for his criminal activities in Pimpri, Hinjawadi, and Wakad, has a history of nine serious offences, including attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, theft, and illegal possession of weapons. The proposal for his transfer was initiated by the Pimpri Police Station and forwarded to the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC).

 

Satish alias Prashant Baburao Datar is a criminal on record operating in the Chakan area, with three serious offences such as causing grievous bodily harm and extortion. Similarly, Shubham Rup Singh Bhat, involved in criminal activities in Hinjawadi, has committed six offences related to the manufacture and sale of counterfeit handicrafts.

 

Following a thorough review of the proposals and accompanying documentation, Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey has invoked the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Slumlords, Bootleggers, Drug Offenders and Dangerous Persons Act (MPDA), 1981, to order their detention at Yerawada Central Jail. This year alone, PCPC has taken action against seven such individuals deemed threats to public safety.
