Pune: Three Years Of Rigorous Imprisonment For Autorickshaw Driver Who Molested Minor Girl
Pune, 14th January 2023: The rickshaw driver who molested a minor girl was sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment by Special Judge SR Navander.
The convicted rickshaw driver has been identified as Joseph Anthony Devanesan (40), a resident of Dapodi. He had molested a 16-year-old girl. The victim girl’s mother had filed a complaint at Bhosari police station. The incident happened on April 18, 2019, in the Dapodi area.
The girl had gone to a shop for shopping. Then Devanesan molested her. He threatened that if she told this to anyone then he will throw acid on her face. Reportedly, he had chased the girl two to three times.
Adv Santoshkumar Patale from the prosecution side argued the case. The testimony of five witnesses was recorded in this case.
It has been mentioned in the order that if the fine amount is not paid, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment for three months. The then sub-inspector of Bhosari police station Birudev Kabugade had investigated the case and filed a charge sheet in the court.
