Pune: Tired of Being Questioned By Police, Kirtankar Hangs Himself
Pune, 14th September 2022: A Kirtankar was beaten up by police for calling a girl. He was also threatened. Unable to bear this insult, he died by suicide two days ago. In this case, the police constable who beat him and his friend has been arrested for abetting suicide.
The Kirtanakar was identified as Sanjay More. He hung himself at his residence on Saturday (10th September). More’s sister lodged a complaint in the Indapur police station in this case. Accordingly, a case has been registered against police constable Mahadev Jadhav of Indapur police station and an unknown friend of his.
According to the police, on Thursday (8th September), Mahadev Jadhav and one of his accomplices went to Sanjay More’s house and abused him by beating him up and questioning why he was calling the daughter of a Maharaj. Earlier, he was taken to Tapi Building near Deshpande Veg Hotel in Indapur and beaten up on the grounds by saying, “Why are you calling Maharaj’s daughter?” Even after this, these two were repeatedly threatening More.
More hung himself on Saturday (10th) after being fed up with his constant harassment. More’s sister Ashwini has said in the police complaint that Sanjay More died by hanging himself at home due to the trouble between these two.
