Pune to Host 32nd National Masters Table Tennis Championship
Pune, 18th April 2026: Pune is set to take centre stage on the national table tennis calendar as it hosts the 32nd National Masters Table Tennis Championship from April 24 to May 4, 2026, at the prestigious Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mahalunge-Balewadi.
The championship is being organised by the Pune District Table Tennis Association in association with the Maharashtra State Table Tennis Association and the Maharashtra State Veterans Table Tennis Committee.
Announcing the details, Organising Committee Chairman Rajiv Bodas and PDTTA Vice President Smita Bodas highlighted that the tournament will feature an attractive prize purse of ₹5.98 lakhs. The event has drawn an overwhelming response from across the country, with entries from 28 states and 8 Union Territories.
A record 1,195 players will compete in the singles events, alongside 197 teams in the team championships and 834 participants in the doubles category, underlining the growing stature and popularity of Masters table tennis in India.
Maharashtra will have a strong presence, fielding over 300 individual entries, 30 teams, and 166 doubles pairs, making it one of the most represented states in the competition.
Among the dignitaries present were Mr. Prakash Tulpule, Mr. Yatin Tipnis, Senior Secretary – Table Tennis Federation of India and Secretary General Maharashtra State Table Tennis Association and Mr. Ashish Bodas, Organizing Secretary.
The championship has received valuable support from sponsors Sharda Group and Deccan Dyes & Chemical Industries.
The tournament will showcase some of Maharashtra’s leading paddlers, including Manisha Bodas, Veena Joshi, Ranjana Patki, Sushma Mogre, Shilpa Joshi, Radhika Dorle, Mayuri Dixit, and in the men’s section Subodh Deshpande, Suraj Chandrasekharan, Kedar Kasbekar, Manish Rawat, and Prasad Naik, Ajay Kothawale, Jayant Kulkarni, Shivanad Kundaje, Pinakin Sampat promising high-quality and competitive action throughout the event.
The event will be held in multiple age categories — 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, 75+, and 75+ (above) — for both men and women. Events will include team, singles, doubles, and mixed doubles formats, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging tournament structure.
The organisers have ensured top-class playing conditions, with 16 brand-new STAG tables installed at the venue. Matches will be held daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
The Winners and runner up will be awarded medals, trophies, and certificates.
An experienced organising committee comprising Abhishek Jain, Shruti Kanade, Suhas Dandekar, and Anant Kulkarni has been put in place to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the championship.
