Pune, 13th February 2026: In a significant political and community outreach initiative, the Maharashtra Muslim Conference will organise a grand felicitation ceremony in Pune to honour newly elected Muslim corporators and councillors from 29 municipal corporations and municipal councils across the state.

The event is scheduled to be held on Sunday, February 15, at 11 am at Savitribai Phule Cultural Hall, Timber Market, Lohiyanagar, Pune. The announcement was made by Maharashtra Muslim Conference founder-president Zuber Memon during a press conference.

According to organisers, the programme aims to bring together Muslim public representatives under one platform to deliberate on key social, political, and educational issues affecting the community. The conference will also seek to outline a coordinated strategy for addressing concerns at the municipal level and strengthening collective representation.

Former civil servants, social leaders, community mentors, and prominent personalities from various fields are expected to guide the newly elected representatives. Organisers stated that women and youth are also expected to participate in large numbers.

The primary objective of the event is to foster unity among Muslim elected representatives and develop a structured approach toward community development and governance. Through this initiative, organisers hope to create a stronger, organised, and effective political presence within Maharashtra’s civic bodies.
Several dignitaries, social activists, political leaders, and respected members of the community are expected to attend what organisers described as a ‘historic’ gathering.

The Maharashtra Muslim Conference stated that the programme is intended to encourage constructive dialogue and collaborative action for inclusive development across urban local bodies in the state.
