Pune to Nagpur Vande Bharat Gets Shegaon Halt; Bookings Open August 10

Pune, 8th August 2025: The Ministry of Railways has announced that the newly introduced Pune-Ajni (Nagpur) Vande Bharat Express will begin its regular operations from August 11, 2025, with bookings set to open on August 10, 2025. The train will be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 10 from KSR Bengaluru Railway Station, along with two other Vande Bharat trains Bengaluru-Belgavi and Katra-Amritsar.
The Pune-Ajni Vande Bharat Express will be the 12th Vande Bharat service in Maharashtra and the first to cover the Wardha-Manmad region, including a newly added halt at Shegaon.
According to the schedule, Train No. 26101 Pune-Ajni Vande Bharat Express will depart Pune at 06:25 hrs six days a week (except Tuesdays), starting August 11, and reach Ajni at 18:25 hrs the same day. In the return direction, Train No. 26102 Ajni–Pune Vande Bharat Express will depart Ajni at 09:50 hrs six days a week (except Mondays), starting August 12, and arrive at Pune at 21:50 hrs.
The train will cover 881 km in 12 hours and will have 10 intermediate halts at:
- Wardha
- Badnera
- Akola
- Shegaon
- Bhusaval
- Jalgaon
- Manmad
- Kopargaon
- Ahmednagar
- Daund Chord Line
The train will operate with a rake of 8 coaches, comprising 1 Executive Chair Car (52 seats) and 7 Chair Cars (total 478 seats), with a total capacity of 530 passengers.
The Pune-Ajni Vande Bharat is the longest-running Vande Bharat Express and the fastest train between Pune and Nagpur, with an average speed of 73 km/h.
