Pune: Toddler Drowns In Bucket Of Water While Parents Sleep
Wakad, 4th March 2023: A one-year-old boy died in a tragic accident in Wakad, Pune, on Thursday afternoon. According to the police, the child’s parents were asleep after lunch when he lost his life, and foul play has been ruled out.
The child’s father, Mohammad Tariq, stated that his son, Faizal, was sleeping with him and his wife when the incident occurred. Tariq explained that they were unaware of when Faizal went to the bathroom and fell into the bucket filled with water. Tariq’s older son was at school at the time of the accident, and Faizal’s mother woke up to find him missing. She discovered him motionless in the bucket after searching for him.
Tariq rushed his son to the hospital, but the doctor pronounced him dead on arrival. The Wakad police station (Pimpri Chinchwad police) has registered an accidental death case and stated that the incident occurred while Faizal was playing in the bathroom. Faizal’s mother is a homemaker, and his father owns a glass store in Wakad.
After the post-mortem examination, the police returned the child’s body to his parents. Senior police inspector Sataywan Mane said that the incident occurred at around 3 pm, and the boy’s parents took him to the hospital half an hour later.
