Pune Traffic Advisory for Maha Shivratri 2026: Diversions Announced in Kasba Peth and Yerwada
Pune, 14th February 2026: In view of the expected heavy rush of devotees at Shiva temples in the Faraskhana and Yerwada areas on the occasion of Maha Shivratri, the Pune Traffic Police have announced special traffic arrangements for Sunday (February 15).
To prevent inconvenience to citizens and ensure smooth vehicular movement, temporary diversions will be implemented on key roads under the Faraskhana Traffic Division. Traffic on Punyeshwar Road and Agarwal Road will be diverted as per requirement.
Motorists travelling from Kumbharves Chowk towards Phadke Haud Chowk have been advised to proceed via Gadgil Statue Chowk, Jijamata Chowk and Ganesh Road.
Similarly, vehicles moving from Surya Hospital towards Pavale Chowk should take Shivaji Road and turn left at Jijamata Chowk, police said.
Under the Yerwada Traffic Division, traffic from Tarkeshwar Chowk towards Gunjan Chowk will also be diverted depending on the crowd situation. Motorists coming from Tarkeshwar Chowk have been asked to turn right at Shadalbaba Chowk and proceed via Ambedkar Chowk to reach their destinations.
Traffic moving from Sangamwadi towards Tarkeshwar Chowk will be diverted at Ambedkar Chowk, where motorists will have to take a right turn to continue further. Likewise, vehicles travelling from Chandrama Chowk towards Tarkeshwar Chowk will be diverted via Shadalbaba Chowk. Drivers have been instructed to turn left at Shadalbaba Chowk and proceed through Ambedkar Chowk and Golf Club Chowk.
The traffic police have appealed to citizens to follow the diversions and cooperate with authorities to ensure smooth traffic management during the Maha Shivratri festivities.
