Pune Traffic Alert: Swargate Area to See Diverted Routes for Ballot Box Distribution

Pune, 18th November 2024: Traffic arrangements in the Swargate area will be altered on Tuesday (19th November) and Wednesday (20th November) to facilitate the distribution and collection of ballot boxes and voting materials for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections. The materials will be transported using PMPML buses from the Shree Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch and again from polling stations.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Amol Zende, announced that traffic diversions will be in place during specific hours on both days to ensure smooth operations and minimize inconvenience to commuters.

Traffic Changes:
– Tuesday, 19th November (6 am to 1 pm):
– Vehicles heading towards Sarasbagh from Swargate Keshavrao Jedhe Chowk must use the left lane.
– The right lane will be reserved exclusively for PMPML buses transporting election materials.

– Wednesday, 20th November (6 pm to midnight):
– Post-voting, the traffic on Solapur Road heading towards Sarasbaug will be restricted.
– The “Great Separator” at Swargate will remain closed to traffic.
– Vehicles heading to Sarasbaug are advised to turn right from Laxminarayan Cinema Chowk and proceed via Mitramandal Chowk.

The main center for collecting voting materials will be at Shree Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch on Wednesday evening. The Traffic Police have urged commuters to plan their routes accordingly and cooperate during these temporary adjustments.

The measures aim to streamline election-related logistics while ensuring public safety and minimizing disruptions to routine traffic.
