Pune: Traffic Cop Beaten Up By Motorist In Kharadi, Driver Arrested

Kharadi, 25th September 2022: An incident came up of a motorist beating up a traffic police personnel who took action against him for breaking the signal at 5 pm on 24th September in the Kharadi bypass area on Nagar Road.

The motorist has been identified as Balkrishna Jayaram Talke (32), a resident of Bakori Road, Wagholi. Anand Gosavi, a policeman from the airport traffic department, has lodged a complaint with the airport police station.

Gosavi, a police personnel, was regulating traffic at the intersection on the Kharadi outturn road. During the time, police personnel Gosavi suggested that the car be stopped as Talke broke the signal and went ahead. Then Talke grabbed and broke the button of Gosavi’s uniform after he was questioned about breaking the rule.

Talke taunted, “The police have had a lot of fun,” and shocked Gosavi. Gosavi and his colleagues from the traffic branch took Talke into custody.

 A case has been registered against him for obstructing government work and beating him up. Assistant Police Inspector S. N. Lahane is investigating further.
