Pune: Sanjog Waghere Accuses Shrirang Barne of Betrayal and Lack of Development in Maval Constituency

Pimpri Chinchwad, 11th May 2024: As the campaigning has come to an end today from 6 PM, Mahavikas Aghadi’s Maval Lok Sabha Candidate, Sanjog Waghere from Shiv Sena (UBT), held a press conference as the final part of his campaign. During this conference, he made some sharp criticisms.
Mahayuti candidate and sitting MP of Maval, Shrirang Barne, had previously stated, “I do not know who the candidate is in front of me.” In response to this statement, Sanjog Waghere launched an attack on Barne. He stated, “Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had to conduct a four-hour road show for Barne. Even the Deputy Chief Minister and the Prime Minister had to attend. From this, Barne must have received the answer to the question, ‘Who is the candidate in front of him?’ He must have realized.”
He further emphasized, “There has been no development in the Maval constituency despite promises made during elections. Votes were garnered in the name of development, but little has changed. Barne left the real Shiv Sena party, betraying the trust placed in him. The issues facing workers and farmers remain unaddressed. There were high hopes regarding initiatives like the smart city, but unfortunately, it did not yield the expected results. He was outspoken about the TDR scam too, but again, it remained unanswered. However, these are separate issues. What remains unchanged is the lack of progress. I did not betray anyone; I did not break the party. I simply exercised my constitutional rights by leaving the party.”
He concluded by criticizing Barne, stating, “Abandoning the party that supported Barne’s two-term tenure as MP is nothing short of betrayal.”
